A Kentucky grand jury has indicted a 28-year-old mother with her baby’s murder after a medical examiner’s report showed that her baby died from acute methamphetamine intoxication.

A Trigg County grand jury indicted Shaylynn Curtis on a murder charge in connection with the death of her 5-month-old son. She is currently in the Christian County Jail in Kentucky.

A Kentucky State Police report does not indicate how the baby ingested the methamphetamine.

Curtis was initially charged with abuse of a corpse after an investigation indicated that Curtis took the baby after it died, wrapped her son’s body in a blanket and placed it in an attic. Curtis did not call 911 or seek medical assistance for the baby, authorities said.
