A Kentucky man was arrested Thursday for allegedly murdering his mother last year and trying to conceal the death by setting her car on fire.

Kentucky State Police in Ashland said Friday they had arrested Joshua Meenach, 22, in connection with an ongoing investigation into the death of Stacy Meenach.

An obituary for Stacy Meenach listed Joshua Meenach as her son.

The investigation began on Friday, March 31, 2023, following the discovery of human remains in a burned-out vehicle on Sawpit Road.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Greenup County Grand Jury issued an indictment warrant for Joshua Meenach, charging him with murder, arson in the first degree, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse, all related to the incident on Sawpit Road.
