Kentucky man steals police cruiser, leads law enforcement on chase that reaches 115 mph on interstate

A Kentucky man is in custody after he stole of a police cruiser and then led state law enforcement on a high-speed chase that reached 115 mph. The chase ended with a collision in Lexington Saturday afternoon.

Chase Jackson, 22, of Monticello, was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, speeding, receiving stolen property, and two counts of wanton endangerment, among other charges.

Officials with the Kentucky State Police confirmed that a high-speed chase unfolded on I-75 North Saturday afternoon and ended in Fayette County.

A KSP trooper located Jackson around 4 p.m. in a Dodge Durango cruiser driving northbound on I-75. The cruiser was spotted near mile marker 86 at which point a chase began that reached speeds of about 115 mph, according to the Lexington News-Herald.

Jackson then exited the interstate, turned into a gas station parking lot and then collided with a KSP vehicle in an attempt to get back on the interstate.

Jackson then got out and fled on foot before he was apprehended at about 4:15 p.m. by state police and officers with the Lexington Police Department.
