The open enrollment period for the state’s health care exchange has opened, and Kentucky’s governor is urging families to sign up.
“Starting today, Kentucky families can go online and shop and save on quality health care coverage,” Gov. Andy Beshear said in a media release Monday.
The portal will allow Kentuckians to apply for health coverage and complete enrollment on one platform.
In addition to Anthem’s statewide coverage and CareSource, consumers can shop for plans available in select counties from two new health insurers: Ambetter from WellCare of Kentucky and Passport Health Plan by Molina.
Enrollments received by Dec. 15 will qualify for coverage in January 2022. For those who sign up by Jan. 15, 2022, coverage begins in February.
Kentucky residents can sign up online at kynect.ky.gov.
