The owner of a baby kangaroo stolen Sunday night from a southern Kentucky farm is offering a reward for the animal’s safe return.

The 10-month-old baby kangaroo was stolen Sunday night around closing time, according to Rick Gregory of Hillview Stables in Laurel County.

The family-owned and operated horse farm also offers families the chance to see rare animals not seen in Kentucky, including kangaroos.

Gregory said the baby kangaroo named “Scooby-Doo” was stolen from a homemade pouch that was hanging in a horse stall. Gregory said the animal needs to be fed a special and expensive formula in order to survive.

Gregory is offering $500 — no questions asked — to the thief for the animal’s safe return. Gregory is also offering a $1,000 reward to those who turn in the thief.

Anyone with information about the baby kangaroo can contact Hillview Stables by calling 606-524-4994 with any information.
