A Kentucky woman has been charged with murder after killing her husband reportedly in an argument over a horse and a saddle.

Amanda Devers, 33, has been charged with murder after the argument turned deadly.

The domestic argument occurred on Lonnie Haynes Road in Breckinridge County shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Kentucky State Police assisted the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation of a shooting.

When troopers arrived at the scene they discovered Dennis Devers, 49, dead outside the residence.

State police say that Devers and his wife, Amanda Maire Devers, had been arguing over a horse and a saddle. The argument turned deadly when Amanda Devers shot her husband multiple times, killing him. She also suffered a gunshot wound after accidentally shooting herself in the foot.

Following treatment at a local hospital, Amanda Devers was booked on a charge of murder.

WKYT reports that Amanda Devers had filed a protection order against her husband but later filed to have the protection orders dismissed. The shooting happened one day after a judge granted the request to dismiss.
