Kentucky woman arrested after 3-year-old treated for drug overdose

A Kentucky woman has been arrested after her 3-year-old was treated for a drug overdose.

Pikeville Police were called to a local hospital Sunday after Miranda Garrett, 24, of Martin, brought her child in throwing up and nodding off.

According to court records, the child tested positive for suboxone and had to be given Narcan to combat the overdose.

According to news reports, Garrett tried to blame her husband for the overdose, but later changed her story and said she and none else was to blame for the incident.

Garrett was charged with first-degree child abuse and first-degree wanton endangerment.
