One man killed, woman injured in multi-vehicle wreck on Kentucky interstate

One person was killed and another person was injured in a multi-vehicle collision on a stretch of the Kentucky interstate Saturday night.

On Saturday August 07, 2021 at approximately 9:11 pm, Kentucky State Police received a 911 call reporting a multi-vehicle collision near the 41 mile marker on Interstate 71.  Kentucky State Police troopers responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette being operated by Scot Kraft, a 41 year old male of Dayton Ohio, had impacted the guardrail face.  The Carroll County Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Kraft deceased.

A 2012 Mini Cooper operated by Martina Hobbs, a 40 year old female of Scottsburg Indiana was the other vehicle involved.   Hobbs was transported to a local hospital by Henry County EMS.  Larry Williams, a 23 year old male of Terre Haute Indiana was a passenger in this vehicle.  He did not receive medical treatment.

This investigation is ongoing at this time and continues to be conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.  Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Henry County EMS, Carroll County EMS, Worthville Fire, and the Carroll County Coroner.
