Update: Escaped teen who reportedly killed mother, sister back in custody

Kentucky officials say the teen, accused of killing his mother and sister, who escaped a juvenile detention facility is back in custody.

The Versailles Police Department reported that Luke Craig was taken into custody after they received a tip about the teen’s whereabouts.

Police say that at approximately 6:40 p.m. they got a tip that an individual was at Kroger in Versailles who matched the description of Craig. Craig reportedly ran into nearby trees where police found him and took him into custody.

Craig, who was described as “dangerous” and “violent,”escaped the Fayette Regional Juvenile Detention Center shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday. Craig is accused of  killing his mother and sister in Anderson County in 2020.
