A man discovered in a burned out car Sunday was the victim of a fatal shooting, officials say.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the body found in the trunk of the vehicle on the Gene Snyder Freeway as that of Michael Henley.
Officials with the coroner’s office said Henley died from gunshot wounds.
Highview Fire Department crews were called at about 5 a.m. on a report of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on I-265 between Pennsylvania Run Road and Beulah Church Road.
When the flames were extinguished, a body was found inside the vehicle. Police believe the fire was set on purpose.
