A Kentucky man has been arrested after reportedly assaulting a female, then leaving the scene taking a four-year-old child with him.
Laurel County Sheriff officials report that Anthony Wayne Hornsby, 41, of London, Kentucky, is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense, assault – fourth-degree – domestic violence, endangering the welfare of a minor, among other violations.
When deputies responded to a disturbance they found a female victim with a laceration to her forehead and covered in blood. The woman had been reportedly assaulted by her boyfriend.
Deputies learned the woman’s boyfriend — Hornsby — had fled the scene and left taking a four-year-old female with him.
Approximately 100 yards from the residence, the boyfriend reportedly left the four-year-old child on the road and told her to walk home.
Deputies located Hornsby several miles away passed out in the black Mazda with the engine running. It took several minutes to awaken the suspect, deputies said.
Deputies noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverages and determined Hornsby was under the influence.
During the continuing investigation, the suspect reportedly created a disturbance cursing and threatening deputies.
