Experts confirm three tornadoes touched down in Kentucky late last week

Three tornadoes touched down in Kentucky when storms moved through the area late Friday, the National Weather Service has confirmed.

Survey results on Saturday found that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Hardin and Bullitt counties and an EF-0 tornado hit in Breckinridge County, news outlets reported. The EF-0 tornado had peak winds of about 80 mph while both EF-1 tornadoes had peak winds near 100 mph, according to weather service data.

There were scattered reports of downed trees and power lines in Hardin and Jefferson counties from the storm.
