Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear presented Perry County with nearly $1 million in state transportation and school funding.

The money will help resurface sections of 20 roads in the county, covering around 9.7 miles. Nine of the 20 projects have been completed so far.

The funds will also go to school-related projects that aim to increase safety around two elementary schools by updating lane markings and excavating part of a hillside. The excavation will give drivers a longer range of sight for oncoming traffic while entering and leaving school property.
