Kentucky police: Two people dead after early morning motorcycle wreck Wednesday

Kentucky police are investigating a motorcycle wreck that killed two people early Wednesday morning.
Franklin County Coroner Will Harrod has identified the two people killed in the wreck as Chase Hedger, 37, and Kaylene Castillo, 25, both of Franklin County. The two vixtims were pronounced dead at the scene at 4:45 a.m.
“From a preliminary post mortem examination, it appears both victims died from injuries sustained from the crash,” Harrod said.
The accident occurred on Cardwell Lane between Edgewood Drive and Highwood Drive.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and conducted a reconstruction of the deadly accident that occurred around 3:50 a.m. on Cardwell Lane between Edgewood Drive and Highwood Drive.
Harrod told The State Journal that neither victim was wearing a helmet. Autopsies and toxicology tests were scheduled Wednesday, but results will not be available for 12-14 weeks.
According to dispatch reports, a caller reported that both victims were unresponsive in a ditch. The caller told dispatch that he did not see any tire tracks and would stay on scene until first responders arrived. A sheriff’s deputy, the first on the accident scene, requested the coroner at 4:08 a.m.
Cardwell Lane was closed for approximately an hour and reopened around 6:30 a.m., according to Frankfort Police.
