It’s been nearly three weeks since a Kentucky teen disappeared after leaving home to kayak on the Ohio River.

Jacob Stover, 16, of Prospect, went kayaking on the morning of Jan. 10 and never returned home.

Since Stover’s disappearance, friends, family and many volunteers have assisted Kentucky and Indiana law enforcement in the search for any information regarding the teen’s disappearance.

Stover’s parents, Melissa and Shawn Stover say they are comforted by the continued support of the community and volunteers, which have scoured the Ohio River and surrounding area for clues.

Their search efforts have expanded to Brandenburg but they are looking to go even further.

The couple said they are hoping that maybe someone will spot some items from their son’s kayak may have gotten caught up in areas where the Ohio River turns.

They are also asking for more volunteers to hand out fliers across the community. The more people who know what they are looking for, the better chance they have of finding them, they said.
