A Kentucky couple is accused of dumping a dead body of an overnight guest in a garbage can after they reportedly woke up to find the man dead in their home.
Nicholasville Police report that Clay Phillips and Tawna Miller said an acquaintance spent the night at their Strawberry Lane home and that they discovered the man dead when they awoke the next morning.
Instead of calling the police, the couple reportedly removed the dead man’s clothes, brought in a garbage can and dumped the body in it, investigators say.
Phillips and Miller have been charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Police said they don’t believe they do not suspect foul play is the incident and that there were no signs of trauma. The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The name of the dead man has not been released pending notification of the family.
